  • Brooksville Main Street Board Member & Secretary

    Amanda Cunningham-Rud, Secretary

Amanda was raised in rural Northwest Indiana near Chicago. Early in life, Amanda was exposed to the concept of public service as her grandfather and other family members served the State of Indiana in various elected roles. She moved to Florida with her husband in 2011. Over the next several years, Amanda quickly noticed Brooksville Main Street partnering with the City of Brooksville, Hernando County, and local businesses to enrich the community. She wanted to be part of that, so she started volunteering for BMS in different capacities. She saw a call out for board members and applied. Amanda joined the Brooksville Main Street Board of Directors in 2021.

Amanda currently works full-time as a public school teacher at Brooksville Elementary School. She is a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 99 and serves on the City of Brooksville’s Parks and Recreation and Beautification Boards. “I donate my time and talent to Brooksville Main Street because I want my son and our community’s kids to be proud of their hometown. There’s something special about Brooksville and I have no doubt that Brooksville Main Street is and will play a key role in fostering Brooksville’s success.”
